Pregnancy Nutritional Program

Interview by Lynne Walrod,

Your NYC Neighbor – is a way of introducing New Yorkers to a rich community of savvy parents. New York is a diverse City bustling with all kinds of families and personalities. We also love to grab tips and recommendations from moms and dads in certain neighborhoods and throughout the 5 Boroughs, and especially people who have created a product, service or site that helps new parents or appeals to children. Meet Felecia Kutch who discusses her nutrition program during pregnancy.

You mentioned that your last pregnancy was different due to a nutritional program you did while you were pregnant. What did the program entail?

Yes, the program provides a system to stay on track even with pregnancy cravings. It provides nutrition from healthy protein shakes, bars, and an electrolyte drink that has vitamins B and C. The protein is a pure undenatured whey protein concentrate. There are also dairy free options. The protein is a full meal replacement, perfect for on the go city moms. It includes necessary carbohydrates, good fats, and 24 grams of protein as well as naturally occuring enzymes essential for digestion. I used the shakes daily and took the bars to go when I was running around my 4 other children to school and other activities. It helped bring balance to my diet and my day.

You said it helped with morning sickness, how so?

I had most of morning sickness in the 1st trimester. Most of my nausea came from not having enough to eat or lack of nutrients. Having a shake or a bar in between small meals kept me going and the nausea to go away.

After using the nutritional program with your fifth pregnancy, your doula said you had the healthiest placenta she had ever seen. Do you think the nutritional program helped?

I absolutely believe this program made a huge difference in the nutrition as the pregnancy developed. Pregnancy is the only time our bodies actually grow another organ. This organ needs nourishment. If not given the proper nourishment is doesn’t develop to it’s fullest strength. I had more energy with my 5th pregnancy than I did with the other 4. I loved knowing I was putting amazing nutrients into my body and giving myself and my growing baby extra love.

The program has a cleansing component. Can you cleanse during the prenatal-post natal time or is that not allowed?

The pregnancy program does not have a cleansing component. There is a specific program for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Detoxing during pregnancy and nursing is not good for the mother or baby. Husbands can join the program with cleansing there is no need for the sympothy weight and it will only increase their energy as well.

How can pregnant and breastfeeding moms reach you to learn more about this program?
