Your NYC Neighbor – is a way of introducing New Yorkers to a rich community of savvy parents and business owners. New York is a diverse City bustling with all kinds of families and personalities. We also love to grab tips and recommendations from moms and dads in certain neighborhoods and throughout the 5 Boroughs, and especially people who have created a product, service or site that helps new parents. Meet Natalie Gentile from King Kidlet.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I grew up in Rhode Island but knew from a young age I would move to New York City the first chance I got. I attended college in the city which is where my husband and I met way back when we were just teenagers. My professional background is in the field of education. I have an MS in Early Childhood Education and was a long time nanny and preschool teacher prior to launching my business King Kidlet.
Where do you live? Why do you like your neighborhood?
When I first moved to Brooklyn eight years ago (I currently reside in Bushwick), I remember it was the first time I felt truly at home in NYC. For me Brooklyn perfectly combines the energy of the city with a sense of community.
Tell us about King Kidlet?
King Kidlet is a baby registry consulting and concierge service for expectant parents. We develop custom registries designed to suit the specific lifestyles of individual families. Parents receive expert advice on the safest, most reliable and versatile gear on the market. The goal of King Kidlet is to inform new parents and guide them through the overwhelming baby-product market.
What’s different about your service?
I founded King Kidlet to provide expectant parents a highly individualized baby registry experience. During an in-home consultation, I meet with families to get to know them on a personal level. Through our services, parents not only gain a trusted source but also receive a one-of-a-kind baby registry tailored to fit their needs and personal style.
What’s next for King Kidlet?
King Kidlet recently launched a new service, Registry Review. Registry Review provides expectant parents the opportunity to have their baby registry reviewed by a professional. Parents receive advice on suggestions for changes and additions to their registry as well as the opportunity to have all their baby-product related questions answered.
